Day 14: Stand Fast!
Day 14: Stand Fast!
Read and Meditate on: Psalm 91: 1 - 16
I
Corinthians 16: 13
You’re
almost halfway through your journey, and if you haven’t felt Satan’s attacks by
now, be on guard! You will! Satan will tempt you many times during these thirty
days. Don’t give in! Stand fast!
I’ve been tempted many times, and sadly I have given in to that
temptation. Sometimes it was wallowing
in self-pity that prevented me from being the person that God called me to
be. Other times, my temper was out of
control, and that’s the short list.
During those times, all I could do was confess my sin, repent, and ask
forgiveness. Thankfully, that is enough.
On one
occasion, I didn’t give in. I was faced
with a question of honesty and integrity, a choice that would either violate my
core beliefs or potentially cause me to be professionally humiliated and
possibly financially ruined. For a
moment I waivered, but then God intervened.
He answered my prayers. The Holy
Spirit gave me the strength to stand fast!
Be strong and courageous! Your Father watches over you too. He is your refuge and strength, and while He
will not spare you from all pain and misery. He is with you in every
storm. Allow His presence to give you
the strength to stand fast in the face of Satan’s attacks. Don’t let Satan win!

Supplication:
Father, I long to be
the righteous and holy person that You have called me to be, but I can’t do it
without Your help. Help me to stand fast
in the face of Satan’s temptations, and when I do sin, help me to repent, confess
and get back on Your path for my life.
Thank You for always being there when I call. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

God wills brings peace.” Amy Carmichael
