Day 13: Surrender!
Day 13: Surrender to Him!
Read and Meditate on: Proverbs 3: 5, 6
Philippians
3: 7 – 14
There’s
that “s” word again. I know that we
began this journey talking about surrender, but it is worth repeating. Perhaps surrender is so difficult because it
involves trust. To completely surrender
control to someone else, you must trust them completely. I often joke that I don’t like to fly because
they won’t let me fly the plane. While
that line always brings a chuckle, it reveals how difficult it is for me to
trust people – even a trained pilot.
O to
trust like the apostle Paul! That is my
desire. He considered everything else
less compared to the “surpassing greatness”[1] of knowing
His Lord. He knew that full surrender
was a constant struggle against human desires, yet he pressed on “…toward the
goal to win the prize…”[2]
If we
truly surrender, putting all our trust in God, He will direct our paths. Today’s the day!!
Adoration:
Confession:
Thanksgiving:
Supplication:
Father, I trust
You. Help me to trust You more and to
completely surrender every aspect of my life to You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
“The will of God is not
something you add to your life. It’s a
course you choose. You either line
yourself up with the Son of God…or you capitulate to the principle which
governs the rest of the world.” Elisabeth Elliot
